This is a beautifully decorated gem in one of the most interesting artistic communities in the world. If you’ve never been to Bombay Beach, this is a really great place to start. I brought my mom for a weekend and she absolutely loved it. One of the highlights for me is that all of the furniture seems to be made from a single piece of the same kind of wood. Bombay Beach is very dusty (it’s the Desert, after all), so I was extremely pleased at how clean the space was when I arrived. You may want to bring slippers for the inside or not wear your shoes inside at all. The countertops were actually gleaming. The outdoor shower, and handpainted bathroom are also beautiful additions. Thanks for a great stay!

The moment I arrived I can’t explain the overwhelming sense of peace came over me. I didn’t want to leave. I spent majority of my trip on the property leaving only for groceries. Tao has truly built something special.
In my solitude, I was able to experience some of the most intimate healing moments with myself. I wrote everyday. The views and natural sounds of the area were beautiful. I was able to be me. I will be returning as I found this place to be my sanctuary of rest.

It was such an amazing experience it was a great get away for the weekend. Most definitely recommended to anyone who loves peace and beautiful surroundings. Great people with an amazing community. Surpassed my expectations. Tao was very responsive and attentive. 10 out of 10

This was our third time visiting Bombay Beach but first time staying. We loved everything about our house. It was great to have a kitchen to cook our own meals. We were literally across the street from the beach and not too far away there were so many unique art pieces to go and see. We absolutely LOVED our pet peacocks for the weekend. There was one that would always be in the same spot every day so we got a chance to say hi to him each morning. The host was very accommodating since we initially planned it to be a trip for the two of us but had some additional guests join us. Everything went perfectly and it was an overall really great experience. I can’t wait to come back since there’s still some things I have yet to see.

I loved staying in the zigzag house and would definitely recommend it to anyone looking for something fun and unique. Tao allowed me an early check in and was accommodating which I appreciated very much. The front yard has many art displays and a friendly rooster that lives there. I felt right at home and all of the appliances worked well, including the ac which is a must. I can’t wait to come back to bombay beach and stay at another one of Tao’s properties. Thank you so much!

Amazing little spot tucked into the hillside. Was a wonderful place to relax and unwind. The pool was refreshingly cold on a hot day and the Jacuzzi was warm and relaxing later into the evening. The overall property has a fun and personal feel with all the different structures but still feels very private. The library was an amazing place to unplug.

This is the second time I've stayed at The Nest and it's delightful! So cozy and groovy. I made a mistake and locked the wrong lock on leaving for a party down the road. I had to reach out to him at midnight to get inside - I felt so stupid. Anyway, he had that door unlocked within 15 minutes of me reaching out. Whew! Will not make the same mistake as I plan to stay there again. Highly recommend. This is as fancy as it gets in this funky 'hood.

The Library was a magical spot to spend the weekend—magnificent views in all directions, a beautifully designed interior space that created a restful and cozy atmosphere, and an impressive collection of books lining the walls. Walking around the property was great, too. Beautiful nature is truly right out the door. Highly recommend Tao’s place for any kind of getaway, but a restorative one in particular. We will certainly be back.
